Twegashe Read-Aloud

Twegashe students are learning English, and learning to read, both at the same time. This year we used a curriculum called ReadWell with the first grade class. The results have been good, as you can see from this video of first-graders Justa, Topista, Gisela, and Benefance sharing a favorite book from their classroom library about the first day of kindergarten.

In the story, the kindergarten students go on a nature walk to find something special to bring back and share with the class. Sam helps each of his classmates to find what they are looking for, and comes back to class with his own bag empty. But in helping his new classmates, he has found something special, too – friends!

At Twegashe School we are very happy for friends like CORE Tanzania board member Steven Burdick, who donated the ReadWell curriculum, and for all the supporters of CORE Tanzania, who have made so many special and wonderful things possible for Twegashe students!
