partly made dirt road down grassy hillside

The Road to Twegashe School

Before beginning construction of Twegashe School we needed a road to get supplies from the village road to the school site. We undertook this task during a September 2018 visit to the village. Volunteer construction supervisor Bill Suhr directed the road-building, assisted by CORE Tanzania volunteer project manager Mike Tully. A team of six young men from the village provided the labor.

In less than three weeks, 600 meters of new road led down the hill to the classroom site, and also along the top of the hillside to the future teachers’ houses. View this video to see that road taking shape.
