Why Raincoats?

children walking through very large rain puddle

It rains A LOT in Bushasha, and when it rains it usually rains hard. Unfortunately, rain is most common in the morning, when kids are walking to school. Some children walk as far as two miles to school, and when they arrive they’re drenched. When the weather is rainy here, it’s often quite cool, too, so the children are not only wet but cold.

We’ve found a manufacturer in Tanzania who can make child-sized raincoats, and we’ve also found a supplier of child-sized boots. All that’s needed now is funds. You can help keep kids dry by donating to the Twegashe Raincoat Fund.

Your gift will allow children to arrive at school warm and dry so they can focus on learning.

Don’t delay – the rainy season is almost here!
